This large aquarium – a new build project and the first of its kind in Malta – is in a popular location and showcases a large number of attractive elements. Fish from around the world are featured, including a large ocean display with walk-through tunnel and sharks.

It was an incredible project – the site was essentially a large blank canvas when we arrived. Our job was to transform it from a building site into an underwater wonderland. There were a total of 26 tanks, all requiring theming, painting and glazing. If that wasn’t enough we also had a mammoth amount of external dry-side theming and muraling to get on with, plus a submarine to build – needless to say we had our work cut out!

What we did:

• Supplied full theming design package, including CGI ‘Walkthrough’
• Created, supplied and installed all of the in-tank theming
• Created, supplied and installed all exhibition dry-side theming
• All of the mural artwork
• All of the tank glazing
• Themed the outdoor areas, including Café Del Mar
• Themed the restaurant
